STILL ALIVE


2012 was not a very good year~~here's hoping 2013 gets better.

I still love to knit, crochet and sew.  They have helped me cope with the mess of 2012

                 I made this hat for my awesome graddaughter who turned 14 recently.

                       

I also am working on a sweater for my sister and one for my daughter.
The photo is the sweater making for my daughter.

The tan ones (photos) is the sweater I am working on for my sister, it has been ripped out and re-done twice.  I did gauge but still sweater was way too big so had to modify and start over twice!!

WOW

A lot has happened since I last posted.  I finished my sister's sweater and numerous other things.  I posted the photos on Facebook.  We have a new full bathroom downstairs, kitchen is being redone along with NEW hardwood floors throughout the main floor. So much happening at once.  I just want my house with a kitchen back together before Christmas, before Chanukah is asking toooooo much!!  Went to Florida with grandkids and family in September, fun for all!!

Then received the wrong yarn for a baby boy to be, so making this afghan/blanket on huge needles which take getting use to, soooo awkward using huge needles!!

Next I'll working on holiday gifts.........need lots.

A visit to Aunt Lisa's

Not the best photos~~but we had a great time at Lisa & Kelvin's. I flew to Colorado for Mr. K's birthday and then we drove to Arizona to visit Lisa & family. It was HOT!! We had tons of fun and celebrated Mr. K's 9th birthday there. I didn't take photos that day:(

Colorado was beautiful and I only have a few photos on my phone that I need to transfer so can post. The weather there was great, not hot but not cold yet either and NO snow. It snowed there right after I left.

Wow, long time away!

Had an exciting and crazy summer. Could not knit, no time and then as knitters would say, lost my knitting mojo but it is back and so am I. Photos of summer events later.

Crazy, Lazy Days

Well the craziness of holidays are over, it's been snowing a lot here. So being snowed in, I have begun decluttering again~~amazing whatcha find, lol. I have been working in my kitchen & dining rooms. I found not one, not 2 or 3 but 5, yes 5 kitchen scales!!
Doggies wish I would find treats~~but alas no treats found, they eat them all up so never any to find. Their doggie toy box is overflowing though!

12/27/10 snow storm with snow fence!

No decluttering today~Jack Daniels in hot tea day for a frigging cold I acquired from work.

01/07/11 snow storm~only 8 inches today but enough with more to come early in the week!

I did make more of these, quick easy and pretty!! And I spent a lot of time with my kindle!!!

I wish I had taken a pic of the "drowned" rats (Kenzi & Gibbs) after their bath which they really needed. There was tons of mud in NYS when we were there for the New Year. Kenzi is STILL mad at me so she is a daddy's girl today!! Love the new shampoo I got for them, it smells just like baby powder so now they do too.

Hat Mania

Been busily working on holiday gifts and lots of hats.

And a pair of fingerless mitts for Mr. K in not girl colors!! Dark purple hat is a slouchy beret. Looks like I need to move buttons on the green hat & cream colored hats! Welp, will do that tomorrow before shipped off.

~~Lesson learned~~don't sew on buttons past bedtime, :)

Backpack is fini!

I tend to be a last minute person, such a procrastinator~~~so I just finished the backpack while making pies for Thanksgiving.

Most of it is done so I will finish, just need to do straps, i-cord drawstring, then block and line it, then take Thanksgiving weekend to give to her.

Photoless Post

Working on holiday presents so no photos. My ise scarf is blocking. Just have to get goodies and will mail it out beginning of next week. Holiday presents will go out week after the scarf, except for mystery afghans~~clues not done~~just released clue 8 then next week will reveal how it all goes together but I still have to do clue 6 (16 squares times 4). Last night I asked kiddos if they had made their lists for Santa and ARM said "Grammy, it is only November!" AA wants a skate board, NOT, he is only 3!!

Mom's Hat Dilemma

I finished hats for mom, she washed and dried first one which was wool. Made a new pink one in super wash wool so she can wash and dry.

Yesterday, little monsters got into my "knitting/crochet" bag and instead of messing up yarn decided to eat the buttons on mom's pink hat!! I should have taken pic but~~~~~~~~

Because of button eating, there was a hole in hat soooo today I am making a new one!!!
Good thing they are fast and easy!!
