NOT AGAIN.........

We are expected to get another 3-6 inches of snow tonight. I think we are going to have a very stormy March, SNOW on Easter is likely. some of our worst storms are in March. The only plus is that it melts quickly. My sister who lives in Virginia is missing snow, she can have mine this time!!! I am ready for Spring!! So why do I go to Colorado every April and freeze? Because it is my granddaughter's birthday on the 20th of April and I ALWAYS spend the day with her. What we do for grandkids.................heck we LOVE it. And I wouldn't give it up for anything.

Defeat the Winter Doldrums Final Question

For this week, go through those who've commented on last week's topic - find someone who had an idea on their day that sounded appealing to you, as well, and tell us why, or what appealed to you, and link to their blog! If you can't find someone who has a day you think you'd enjoy, find one that you thought was interesting, odd, or funny in some way, and talk about it!

I enjoyed reading most of the answers. It was fun. I really enjoyed reading Grace Yaskovic's answer,

Since I have been ill for too long, I would love a day like that, There is a spot in AVON BY THE SEA here on the Coast of NJ, the boardwalk kind juts out just a bit further over the sand. I would sit right there by a table, with an umbrella or huge hat, my knitting and a picnic lunch of fresh bread, cheese, grapes and strawberries, and some Darjeeling Tea Iced and only very slightly sweetened (a special treat since I usually drink it plain) and a jelly donut for a true indulgence. I would have my Ipod Shuffle, leave the cell phone in the car, and knit away the day!! Then i would meet Tom for a seafood dinner and a dip in the hotel's indoor pool!!!

since I too have been very sick this winter and I love the shore. I would go to Cape May though, it is so quaint and historic. And I could enjoy like Grace above and then wander their many shops!!!

GOODIES

Well, I arrived home to find a package on my steps, it was from Drugstore.com with my vitamins. Then I went to mail box and found another package, yep, this one was from my secret swap partner for the Defeat the Winter Doldrums!! THANK YOU SO MUCH ALAINA!! Since this was my first swap, Alaina gave me great ideas for my next swap!!! She packed everything so nicely in a reuseable file box!!! Terrific idea!!!

Besides her note, she also included a postcard of where she is from. She is one smart lady.
I love everything! My hubby thinks it is so cool I am doing swaps. He enjoyed watching me put mine together which I sent today.

My goodies and dishcloths from from Alaina. I hope we will continue to chat as we seem to have much in common!!!

I am going to have a chocolate stick, right after I weigh in at Weight Watchers!!!

Celebrations

Wow after being seriously sick for a month, now it is time for celebrations. Today is hubby & I's 37th anniversary and tomorrow is hubby's birthday. I am NOT old!!, got married at 19. oops, that does date me. I do know that I do not ever want to be that sick again and so I have started/committed, (late) although used to be soooooo good when kids were home, to being healthy and exercising again. Love my knitting and crafts but can be such a couch potato with them!! I don't have enough time in day to do all that I would like and sometimes that gets me down. I have learned though that I do not care what people think of how my house looks, who the h?? cares?? Took a long time to learn that lesson but at least I did. Living and enjoying life, that is a goal to acheive. ENOUGH spouting off, must go and enjoy my evening with hubby!!!

Weekly Topic #5
If money were no object, and the day was just perfect - not to hot, not too cold, sun shining, slight breeze - how would you spend a perfect day out that had been given to you in the middle of a cold and blustery winter?

If money were no object , I would be at the beach in Florida with my kids, in-laws and grandkids. We would make sand castles and run around like nuts, swimming, then good food, naps, and knitting for me. It would be an long awesome fun day!!

Weekly Topic # 4

Defeat the Winter Doldrums" for some of us we get the doldrums and others don't. For the ones who get doldrums what helps you get rid of them? For the ones who don't get the doldrums, what helps you keep them away?

I am one does not usually get the Winter Doldrums. I love snow, it is white, shiny and very pretty when falling. I love being home when it is cold and dark out. It gives me an excuse to sit home and do nothing, if I want. But come Spring, I pay for all that sitting! The house needs major spring cleaning and organization as well as my BODY!!! It snowed a dusting this morning and lifted my spirits!! I truly enjoy all seasons and look forward to all their own “quirts.”

Friday, February 1, 2008

It's me again and I am sorry to harp on being sick. Doctor said it is strep and with antibiotic I will be well soon. I knew it could not be flu as I did get my flu shot!! I should have taken outside pictures today. We had an ice storm here, very dangerous but also very pretty. No pictures, sorry.

In knitting, I finished a dishcloth, even used a crocheted border. Will take photos tomorrow. Frogged the whole pink hat, found a much better hat pattern

while searching different blogs. That is how I found Amy and her Longing for Spring Swap. DH found out I had a blog, he is a computer software engineer. He was impressed but I told him not to be, I am a blogger newbie and know nothing!!!

Will start the new hat tomorrow. I found so many cool patterns while "blogging"

I need to email my swap spoiler again. She emailed me, yesterday I think. Feels like we have much in common. How cool is that!!!

SICK

I am so sick of being sick. Hate colds and fevers. I decided that staying home instead of infecting everyone was better,so I have spent most of today in bed. Wish I could say it has helped but so far still the same.:( Hubby is sick too but his work keeps calling and waking me up!! Don't they get it that he(we)is sick. The dishcloth swap has been such fun, I signed up for another swap. This could become addictive. LOL
